Profiles is seeking a Web Content Editor to join the content marketing team of a Fortune 200 Financial Services Corporation. This position is a long-term contract assignment and is located in Richmond, VA.  

The content marketing team is focused on delivering compelling and valuable digital content that will enrich people's lives and influence the perception of a brand. The Web Content Editor will help lead editorial content creation for the content marketing team. The ideal Web Content Editor candidate should have experience writing, editing, proofreading, fact-checking, and managing an editorial calendar. We're looking for the right mix of editing skills, writing skills, project management, and people skills, marketing know-how, and creativity.

Web Content Editor Responsibilities:

  • Edit long-form content for digital channels and write articles and copy as needed.
  • Copy edit for grammar, typos, AP style, and brand's editorial standards.
  • Understand tone, brand voice, and brand guidelines and adapt editing/writing style for a variety of outlets.
  • Understand the importance of creative strategy and how to use it to create powerful work.
  • Pitch ideas grounded in our overall content strategy.
  • Research and incorporate feedback quickly and provide constructive feedback and work with writers to push the creative.
  • Fact-check content, ensure content complies with legal and PR guidance, and hold the team accountable to a high standard of accuracy.
  • Assist in managing editorial calendars, schedules, and deadlines for the team.
  • Guide work through the review and approval process. Manage documentation of approvals, consent forms, and images.

Web Content Editor Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism or related field.
  • 5+ years of professional writing and editing experience.
  • 3+ years of marketing and branding experience.
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced corporate marketing environment within a regulated industry (like finance or healthcare).
  • Previous experience in project management.
  • Previous experience with journalism or long-form communications.
  • Experience writing and editing for SEO and web-specific constructs (ADA compliance, mobile UX, etc.).
