A financial association located in Washington, DC, is looking for a Public Relations Director for growing team. This position is a crucial link between the organization and multiple external audiences.

This is a hybrid remote role and requires candidates to be fully vaccinated.

Media Relations Director Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute innovative communications campaigns and public affairs campaigns to engage members, the news media, thought leaders/stakeholders. 
  • Utilize a wide variety of tools and strategies to enhance company position as the single most effective and credible voice for the entire real estate finance industry.
  • Develop key strategic initiatives for organizational public affairs plan.
  • Brief reports on the wide variety of issues facing the real estate finance industry.
  • Create and execute effective public affairs campaigns through various avenues including social media, press releases, and pitching to spokespeople.
  • Pitch to multiple media outlets and develop strong relationships (CNN, Fox, Bloomberg, The New York Times, etc.)

Media Relations Director Responsibilities:

  • Minimum seven years of experience at a public relations firm.
  • Strong media relations background.
  • Extensive experience in finance, banking, real estate, or mortgage industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications, Marketing, or Journalism.
  • Strong PR communications/external communications experience.
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills, video communication, as well as organizational skills are essential.
