Sr. Accountant

A leader in the specialty chemicals industry is hiring a Sr. Accountant in St. Louis, MO for a full time, direct hire position, 100% onsite.

Senior Accountant Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• 3-5 years of related accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP, financial statements, month end closing procedures, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with public accounting, NetSuite, SSRS Reporting, or Microsoft Access preferred.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:

• Manage monthly general ledger account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, correct errors, and improve balance sheet reconciliation processes.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and monthly financial statements, analyze variances, and support month end closing and financial reporting.
• Perform cost accounting functions, including maintaining standard costs, reviewing landed costs, and working with bills of materials and component parts.
• Prepare and distribute monthly commission reports, product reports, mileage reviews, auto allowance calculations, and customer rebate reports.
• Support year end reporting, external accountant reviews, tax preparation, special projects, and recommendations for accounting process improvements.
