A leader in the Media and Journalism industry is hiring a News Reporter in Los Angeles, CA for a full-time position. This role is onsite 5 days per week and is ideal for a fast-paced, breaking-news journalist eager to be on the front lines of coverage in one of the most dynamic news markets in the country.

 

News Reporter Perks

News Reporter Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in a fast-paced digital newsroom
  • Strong news judgment and ability to identify compelling stories quickly
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clean, accurate copy under tight deadlines
  • Experience publishing in a CMS (WordPress or similar)
  • Understanding of SEO best practices and digital audience engagement

 

News Reporter Responsibilities

  • Deliver exclusive stories and cover breaking news across Los Angeles and surrounding areas
  • Write fast, accurate, and engaging copy aligned with a distinctive editorial voice
  • Monitor news wires, court filings, public records, and social platforms for emerging stories
  • Develop sources across city agencies, emergency services, and local communities
  • File real-time updates across web, social, mobile, and video platforms
