- 5+ years of experience reporting in a fast-paced digital or print newsroom
- Proven experience covering crime, courts, politics, or public safety in a major metro area
- Excellent news judgment with a strong instinct for exclusive and high-impact stories
- Ability to report and write accurately under tight deadlines while managing multiple assignments
- Proficiency with WordPress or a similar CMS; strong understanding of SEO and social media best practices

- Cover breaking news and major developments related to crime, courts, and politics across Los Angeles
- Deliver exclusive, agenda-setting stories that drive engagement and audience growth
