A leader in the Media and Journalism industry is hiring a General Assignment Reporter in San Francisco, CA for a full-time position, onsite five days a week.

General Assignment Reporter Requirements:

At least 3 years of reporting experience in a fast-paced digital or print newsroom

Strong news judgment with the ability to identify compelling, viral, or exclusive story angles
-
Proven ability to report and write accurately on deadline while managing multiple stories

Experience covering major metro areas, ideally including public safety, politics, crime, courts, or general assignment

Proficiency with WordPress or similar CMS, social media platforms, and SEO best practices
-
Strong sourcing skills and familiarity with court filings and public records
-
On-camera experience strongly preferred; comfort presenting stories on video and social platforms
-
Spanish or additional language fluency is a plus
General Assignment Reporter Responsibilities:

Deliver exclusive and breaking news coverage across San Francisco that drives audience engagement

Write fast, clean, compelling copy aligned with the New York Post and California Post voice and style

Identify stories with national relevance, viral potential, or exclusive angles
-
Develop and maintain sources across city agencies, emergency services, courts, and local communities

Monitor public records, court filings, and social media for breaking news and scoops
-
Collaborate closely with editors and fellow reporters to ensure coordinated coverage

File real-time updates across web, social, mobile, and video platforms

Uphold the highest standards of journalistic accuracy, fairness, and integrity
