A leader in the Digital News and Media industry is hiring a Reporter, US News & Crime in New York, NY for a full-time position.

Reporter, US News & Crime Perks:

Reporter, US News & Crime Requirements:

  • 3+ years of professional newsroom experience

  • National US news reporting experience; digital-first background preferred

  • Proven experience covering crime, courts, legal affairs, and investigations

  • Strong command of AP style, SEO, and headline writing

  • Proficiency with PACER, LexisNexis, FOIA requests, CMS/WordPress, and digital analytics

Reporter, US News & Crime Responsibilities:

  • Produce original, enterprise, and investigative reporting for a national audience

  • Respond quickly and accurately to breaking US news under tight deadlines

  • Develop stories featuring original video, interviews, photos, and graphics

  • Maintain and leverage a strong network of criminal, legal, and law enforcement sources

  • Pitch and execute both short-term breaking coverage and long-term reporting projects
