A leader in the media industry is hiring a Sports Editor in Los Angeles, CA for a full-time, onsite position to oversee all sports coverage.

Sports Editor Perks:

Sports Editor Requirements:
• 7-10 years of sports journalism experience with proven editorial leadership.
• Strong knowledge of Los Angeles and national sports landscapes.
• Experience managing reporters and editors with a focus on coaching and development.
• Advanced writing, editing, and headline abilities with strong news judgement.
• Proficiency with CMS tools, social platforms, and digital newsroom workflows.

Sports Editor Responsibilities:
• Oversee and direct all sports coverage across major teams and college sports.
• Lead and mentor reporters, columnists, and editors with daily feedback and direction.
• Shape coverage strategies using audience insights and analytics.
• Collaborate with design, photo, video, and audience teams to package content.
• Manage daily workflow including assignments, priorities, and deadlines.
