A leading pioneer in the autonomous transportation industry is currently seeking a Digital Modeler, Industrial Designer for a 6-month contract opportunity local to Foster City, CA. Candidates must be local to the Foster City area as this role is 100% on-site, 5 days per week.

Digital Modeler, Industrial Designer Requirements:

Minimum of 8 years of experience in digital design architecture, preferably within the automotive or industrial design sectors.

Proficiency in Autodesk Alias Surface, with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality surface models.

Extensive knowledge of the product design development process, from conceptualization to manufacturing.

Strong understanding of component design for manufacture, with the ability to optimize designs for production efficiency.

Comfortable interpreting design input from sketches and verbal instructions, translating them into actionable digital models.

Familiarity with engineering criteria and packaging constraints, ensuring designs align with technical specifications.

Exceptional organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Proven ability to collaborate seamlessly within multidisciplinary teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

Digital Modeler, Industrial Designer Responsibilities:

Lead the creation of high-fidelity surface models that articulate the design vision across all stages of development, from initial concept sketches to final production release.

Ensure timely delivery of surface models aligned with project milestones and quality standards.

Foster collaboration with creative design, studio engineering, and system engineering teams to ensure surface models meet both aesthetic and technical requirements.

Conduct comprehensive design reviews and presentations to stakeholders, effectively communicating design intent and technical feasibility.

Conduct thorough evaluations of surface quality, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

Support the integration of surface models into Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, facilitating seamless transitions from design to production.
