Profiles is partnering with a global leader in the healthcare space headquartered in Baltimore, MD, that is expanding a Communications Specialist to join their internal Marketing & Communications team.

The Communications Specialist will support the team on the development and execution of communications pieces in support of supply chain, finance, innovation and other non-clinical groups within the organization. If you have a strong journalism background and love to write, read on! 

Communications Specialist Responsibilities: 

  • Develop communications programs and assets for internal and external audiences needed to support the advancement of strategic priorities and business objectives.
  • Identify stories and write materials for entity-specific electronic, print, web, video and emails to internal and externals audiences. 
  • Stories include but are not limited to finance, supply chain and business initiatives within the organization. The incumbent will feature stories and infographics about institutional initiatives and programs; and faculty and staff profiles.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with senior leadership, faculty, and staff to advance employee and public awareness of mission and achievements.
  • Develop and implement of a wide variety of integrated communications initiatives related to employee engagement and internal communications.
  • Collaborates with colleagues within marketing & communication and other departments for internal and external communication strategy and implementation.

Communications Specialist Requirements:

  • College degree, preferably in journalism or communications, required.
  • 3+ years of experience in journalism, corporate/employee communications, media relations or public affairs.
  • Demonstrated experience working successfully on deadlines, and designing and implementing communications plans and strategies.
  • Effective use of communication tools, including print, web, media relations, electronic media and other digital communication tools.
  • Experience with AP Style and ability to apply institutional style standards consistently.
  • Require strong communication skills and proven ability to think strategically and precisely and objectively communicate information; give and receive clear messages; ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment; effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects at once; meet demanding deadlines; strong organizational skills and attention to detail; sound judgment and discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing effective external and internal communications plans and strategies, as well as editing / writing high-quality publications is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products; experience with desktop publishing, web-based software and web tracking tools.
  • MUST have professional writing samples to be considered.
